Goodness, Where Do We Start

We are three passionate photographers who love the adventure, challenge and friendship that photography brings to us. Gail, Simone and Sarina share a similar fervour for the advancement of female photography. We genuinely believe it can change your life.

We first met on a female landscape photography trip to the South Island of New Zealand where we instantly hit it off and – boom – Womens Photography Hub (WPH) was born.

WPH is more than a landscape photography hub. It is for all women who either shoot or want to shoot. Simple.

We have created this hub for women all over the world as a way to share their passion with other photographers. Whether it’s a meet up, travel to an exciting location, or just the chance to learn from each other, it is more fun with like-minded women who are open to learning, growing, sharing their knowledge and having fun!

We love the feeling of being constantly challenged by a new situation, new circumstances or a new location! That dream shot – whether it is drone, birds, landscape, astro, long-exposures, macro or travel (with everything in between!). Between the three of us, we have expertise in drone, DSLR digital, film, printing and post processing.

Gail Mitchell

Gail has been passionate about photography since she attended the Whitecliffs Art School in NZ when she was in her 20’s. She learnt black and white film photography, developing and printing, and absolutely loved it, but then along came an international corporate career (for far too many years) meaning photography had to take a back seat. Not anymore! Gail shoots at every opportunity – and she makes sure there are lots. She is an all-rounder – composition, editing and drones. She also loves to teach, guide and share her knowledge.

Simone Higgins

Simone has held a variety of Senior Management roles within the NSW State Government in Australia. These roles have helped her realize her desire to travel and escape into nature – always with her camera in hand. Her vision to see and capture the world through the lens of her camera has started to be a reality over the last couple of years, and she is looking forward to continuing this journey and sharing it with other like-minded women. Simone shoots with a Canon R5 and her latest passion is the DJI Air3. She is an accomplished editor and a great teacher.

Sarina Jackson

Sarina is a full-time lawyer by trade, but every other minute of the day is spent dreaming about shooting. She is an incredibly accomplished and internationally acknowledged expert in this field. Sarina specialises in landscape, aerial, drone and travel. Fortunately for us, she also holds a remotely piloted aircraft operators’ certificate (ReOC) from CASA and is an experienced drone flyer. Sarina is known to be slightly obsessive and this is manifested in an addiction to film photography and, yes, she is happy to add this to the list of processes she teaches.

All three women have been very successful in high profile photography competitions, but this is not what drives them. The community, the learning, the travel and the fun are as necessary as air to all three of them.
